The holidays change who's online and when. Some regulars disappear to family; others are alone and online more than usual. Deciding your schedule now, rather than on Christmas Eve, is the difference between a strong month and a patchy one.
Decide your days off first
Pick the days you won't stream and protect them. Then plan around them. A clear break you've announced is better than missing sessions without warning, which costs you regulars.
Tell your room the holiday schedule early
Post it in your room topic in early December, and repeat it the week before. People plan their own holidays; let them plan around you.
Theme a few sessions, not all of them
One or two themed shows, such as a Christmas jumper night or a New Year countdown, give people a reason to turn up on a specific date. The rest of your sessions can stay as normal.
New Year's Eve is a countdown, not just a late night
If you stream on New Year's Eve, plan a room goal that ends at midnight UK time and say when it starts. A defined event beats an open-ended late session.
Think about privacy if you're travelling
If you're streaming from somewhere other than home over the holidays, check what's visible behind you, and whether your geoblocking still covers where you are and who might be watching from there.
Remember January
January is often quieter once the holidays end. A consistent December schedule makes the people who found you over the holidays more likely to come back.
